Estepona Town Hall has awarded a €3.5 million contract for the construction of a new velodrome and multi-sport facility, marking another step in the city’s transformation. The winning Ecofilia-Pinus bid shortens the execution period to just nine months, bringing the project swiftly to life.
Set within a 20,000-square-metre peri-urban park, the facility will feature a sloping cycling track, an artificial turf pitch designed for rugby and 11-a-side football, and seating for 1,000 spectators. Supporting infrastructure will include changing rooms, a gym, offices, and storage areas, ensuring year-round community use.
Located near Arroyo de Monterroso and Camino de las Mesas, the site will first be equipped with utilities before construction begins. The velodrome’s design meets UCI cycling standards, while the pitch dimensions follow national sports council regulations.
For Estepona, this project is more than a sports venue. It reflects the municipality’s commitment to quality of life, positioning the town as a hub for both international visitors and permanent residents who value health, leisure, and modern infrastructure.
