Where exactly is Bahía de Marbella?
On the sand between the mouth of the Río Real and the Los Monteros estate, about ten minutes east of Marbella’s old town on the A-7. The Río Real golf course is immediately west of it and the Los Monteros estate immediately east, which is why it is often described as the pocket between the two.
What is the beach at Bahía de Marbella like?
It is one of the few stretches of Marbella coast that still has a dune system in front of it rather than a promenade. The conservation record names this sector Duna la Adelfa, puts it at about four and a half hectares, and distinguishes mobile, semi fixed and fixed dune inside it. It forms part of the cordon that was declared the Reserva Ecológica Dunas de Marbella in 2015.
Can you walk along the seafront from here?
Yes, and only recently. On 16 July 2026 the ayuntamiento completed the Bahía Marbella section of the coastal path with a thirty metre footbridge, a toilet module and a lifeguard module, joining the previously finished stretch to the roundabout by the beach at the end of Avenida Príncipe.
