The closure of Olivia Valère Marbella 2026
After almost 30 years at the centre of Marbella’s nightlife, Olivia Valère has officially closed its doors. The shift is definitive. This is not a seasonal pause or refurbishment. The club, long considered one of the defining venues of the Costa del Sol, has turned off its lights permanently under its original name. In its place, a new concept is already taking shape.
Mexican investment group Mandala has taken over the site, leasing the venue for the next ten years and preparing to relaunch it as Bonbonniere Marbella, with an opening scheduled for the end of May.

A 30-year legacy on the Golden Mile
To understand the significance of Olivia Valère Marbella 2026, you have to understand what the venue represented. Opened on 25 July 1997, with Naomi Campbell as its godmother, the club quickly established itself as the epicentre of Marbella’s glamour. Over the years, it became synonymous with the international jet set.
Names such as Mariah Carey, Mick Jagger, Prince, Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and Bruce Willis all passed through its doors, alongside royalty such as Prince Albert II of Monaco. It was more than a nightclub. It was a reference point.
Owner Olivia Valère herself once described it as essential to the Marbella experience, comparing visiting the venue to visiting the Vatican in Rome.
The Mandala takeover and Bonbonniere launch
Mandala Group, an international operator with venues in destinations such as Tulum and Mykonos, has secured a long-term lease and will relaunch the space as Bonbonniere Marbella. Bonbonniere is not positioned as a traditional nightclub, but as a high-energy, curated experience combining music, performance, and tightly managed client access. This is consistent with what has worked in other international markets. “Operators like Mandala are not just opening clubs, they are importing a format that already works globally,” says Cornelio Oprea.
The opening at the end of May will effectively mark the start of a new chapter on the same site, but under a completely different identity.

What happens to the Olivia Valère brand
While the nightclub itself is closing, the Olivia Valère name is not disappearing entirely. The family will continue operating the adjoining restaurant, now branded as LOV Olivia Valère, located in the former Palacio de Babilonia. This space is being repositioned as a hybrid venue, combining gastronomy, live music, and performance.
Led by chef Gregory Loubaresse, the concept introduces French-inspired cuisine alongside entertainment, creating a more immersive dining experience.
A new upper-level concept, L’Exclusive Valère, will offer a more private setting, with limited-capacity boxes overlooking the main show.

Marbella nightlife in transition
The closure of Olivia Valère Marbella 2026 is not an isolated event. It reflects a broader shift in Marbella nightlife. Legacy venues are being replaced or repositioned by operators with:
- International brand recognition
- Proven concepts in multiple markets
- A stronger focus on curated experiences
This is moving Marbella closer to destinations such as Mykonos and Dubai, where nightlife is no longer just about volume, but about brand, access, and experience.
Alina Nouaimeh notes, “The expectation from international clients has changed, they are looking for something more curated, more controlled, and more consistent with what they see globally.”
What this means going forward
The success of this transition will depend on execution. Olivia Valère succeeded because it created an identity that lasted for decades. Bonbonniere will need to establish its own, while competing in a more crowded and more sophisticated market.
A landmark venue has closed. A global operator has stepped in. And Marbella’s nightlife landscape has shifted accordingly
