La Quinta sits on the high ground between Nueva Andalucia and Benahavis village, its golf course built through the 1990s among pine covered slopes that keep this pocket of the hills cooler than the valley below. Las Encinas occupies a frontline position directly on the course, one of several gated complexes built up around La Quinta’s fairways since, with the Westin La Quinta hotel a short walk away offering its pool, spa and gym to residents on an optional membership. Benahavis village, known as the coast’s gastronomic capital, sits a few minutes further into the hills.
